Why YOU Should Attend CORE 2018
Three years ago, I attended my very first CORE Conference as a first year representative. At the conference I got the chance to experience both the exceptional conference and the superhuman work that is done behind the scene to make this conference come to life. Every year I experience a great wave excitement because CORE continuously brings more and more to the table.
If you are wondering whether or not to purchase a ticket, here are two reasons from my experience that may help your decision!
1. Every Story Has a Beginning
Whether or not you found the transition between high school to first year difficult or not, I personally knew that there were many things I did not know walking in. One of them being what my career path was going to look like in the future. I would search left and right for postings but never really knew what a job in accounting, marketing or any field for that matter really entailed. It was at CORE where at least one corporate representative from ALL specializations was present at the conference and helped me gain a better understanding of what different types of work looked like. Whether is was from one of the memorable keynote speakers, a line up of talented panelists or speaking to representatives at networking sessions, I was able to grasp different perspectives of different companies. Being able to really listen and see what others have experienced allowed me to a create a vision for myself and be open-minded to different future paths. Without meeting these people within some of my chapters, I would have never been able to have the experiences I have today.
2. Learning is Endless
This one is quite simple. If you are eager to continuously learn, this conference is for you. Our team can promise that there is at least one thing you can take away from the conference by the end. Whether that’d be a soft skill you acquire from competing in our case competition or learning about a particular industry, the possibilities are truly endless.
It is a pleasure to be writing to you and I hope your story includes a couple of pages with CSRS CORE Conference intertwined within your journey.
Best,
Jessica Dai
